From 20th to 26th April, in Kyiv, there will take place the first Ukrainian Festival of Contemporary Theatre.
The initiator of the festival is the famous director and legend of the Ukrainian theatre of the 80-s – Oleg Liptsin.
The main objective or purpose of the festival is to show little-known aspects of contemporary Ukrainian art both in the context and in the world of the artistic process beyond semi-official newspapers and formal institutions, but freely developing through the individual lives and works of artists born and developed in Ukraine.
The programme activities will include amazing performances from the USA, France, Ukraine, and Russia, as well as a number of recitals of actors, directors, musicians and poets, exhibitions of scenography and theatre artists’ graphics, master classes for young actors, and demonstration of the possibilities of computer technology in modern theatre.
The festival will be held with the support of the Kyiv City State Administration, the Victor Hugo French Cultural Centre, the Kyiv Academic Young Theatre, the Master Klass House of Education and Culture, the Les’ Kurbas National Centre for Theatrical Arts, the New Drama Theatre on Pechers’k, and “The Wheel” (“Koleso”) Academic Theatre.
